Thank you for being interested in the Sacramento State Black Honors College (BHC). We look forward to reviewing your application.  

Priority Admission is April 1, 2025, and Standard Admission is May 1, 2025. After May 1, 2025, applications will be accepted until June 15, 2025. A limited number of applications received after June 15, 2025 will be evaluated on a space-available basis and admitted into the Sacramento State Black Honors College. Applicants applying after April 1 will be notified of their Sacramento State Black Honors College admission decision in mid-May.    

You CAN apply to the Sacramento Black Honors College even if you haven’t yet been admitted to Sacramento State.  You must be admitted into Sacramento State University to participate in the Black Honors College.  

If you have not applied to Sacramento State, you are required to complete the Cal State Apply Application at calstate.edu/apply website.

We also encourage all students to complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA application for 2025-2026 funding is available starting December 2024.

To complete the Sacramento State Black Honors College application, you'll need to collect and report your high school GPA and answer required questions (based on the provided prompts located on the last page of the application). Neither letters of recommendation nor transcripts are required.
