Lipscomb's Patient Assistance program saves Nashville patients millions in drug expenses

Through a program coordinated by Sarah Uroza and student pharmacists at Nashville's Faith Family Medical Clinic, needy patients are matched with free medications offered through charitable foundations. Read more.

Chelsey Sparks recognized for excellence, service with national award

Sparks has been named a recipient of the prestigious Excellence in Pharmacy Award from the United States Public Health Service. She is one of only 89 pharmacy students nationwide to receive this honor this year. Read more.

GIVING

Family gift supports aspiring pharmacists, celebrates daughter’s distinguished career

Major Brittany Latimer graduated from Lipscomb to become a leader in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps. Now her parents, Thomas and Dorothy Latimer, have established an endowed pharmacy scholarship in her honor. Read more.

EVENTS & HAPPENINGS

There are many events happening in the College of Pharmacy this fall. Below are highlights of some of the activities happening this semester.

The semester began with the White Coat Ceremony for new student pharmacists in August and a season of prayer on the First Day We Pray on the first day of classes along with an Organization Fair.

September: Activities included a Phi Delta Chi (PDC) Walk for St. Jude, the Sickle Cell 5k and Health Fair, PDC Movie Night, NCPA hosted Dr. Mack from Gibbs Pharmacy, the Blood Cancer United Light the Night fundraiser, Lipscomb SNPhA chapter meeting and administering vaccines at the Bison Flu Fest.

October: Pumpkins, Policy and Perks; NCPA meeting with Dr. Hannah Grace Matthewson; and the Stick or Treat blood glucose screening event and Halloween party.

Other activities this semester include the annual ThanksMas dinner, among others.
