Humanizing Online Learning: August 2nd-27th
The Hub for Teaching and Learning is pleased to offer a 4-week professional development course on the topic of "Humanizing Online Learning." This course builds on Michelle Pacansky-Brock's recent presentation at UM-D (see https://brocansky.com/um-dearborn) and introduces participants to humanizing strategies that enhance student learning with a particular impact on first-generation, working, and low-income students.

Each week of the course will include a synchronous Zoom kickoff, interactive asynchronous activities, and an opportunity to create humanizing teaching materials, including a student-centered syllabus, welcome and check-in videos, and digital story-telling activities. Please consider joining us even if you aren't teaching online next semester: all the humanizing strategies we will learn are applicable to face-to-face and hybrid courses!

Participants can expect to spend 5-7 hours on course activities for each week of the course, and are eligible to earn 100$ after completing each week (including a deliverable) for a total of 400$ if all four weeks are completed.

Note: Participants can also choose to complete individual weeks rather than the entire 4-week course if that works better for their schedule
