The book release is on April 8, 2025. This vital work reimagines business education for the 21st century, challenging shareholder primacy and proposing new foundations for business leaders to address #climatechange and #inequality. Proud of our undergraduate University of Notre Dame - Mendoza College of Business students who represented our #NDDCEL and business school so well at the #APPE 34th annual conference. The Colloquium course is the primary way our center engages with business students as they begin their paths toward ethical leadership. We were excited to share our model of undergraduate - MBA - corporate mentorship at the conference! Great job presentation team Arriam Abunu Bryn Dougherty Bode Menegay Allison Narmi Thanks again to our Colloquium partners, including the business leaders and scholars who shared their time and expertise with our class: Amy Holcomb Ryan J. Stecz Nancy Kesmodel O’Neill Kristen Bitterly Michell Mary Gentile Tim Faveri Guy Trerotola and our MBA TAs Alejandro Ayala Jack Dickerson Dan Dizon #ethicalleadership #businessethics #goirish
I had the incredible opportunity to attend and present at the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics Conference in Norfolk, Virginia this weekend. I presented alongside my professor, Jessica McManus Warnell, and three classmates: Bryn Dougherty, Arriam Abunu, and Allison Narmi. We presented on the Notre Dame Deloitte Colloquium for Ethical Leadership, a course that connected undergraduates with Deloitte mentors, executives, and MBA students to explore ethical leadership in corporate and academic settings. A key part of the course was our fall break trip to Costa Rica, where we gained firsthand insight into how ethics operates in different cultural and business contexts. The goal of our presentation—"Mentoring Up, Down, & Across: An undergraduate colloquium course in ethical leadership incorporating MBA and corporate engagement"—was to share these experiences so that other institutions can incorporate similar models into their own ethics and leadership education. I focused on the role of expectations and external influences in shaping corporate and cultural decisions. A huge thank you to Professor McManus Warnell and the Notre Dame Deloitte Center for Ethical Leadership for making this experience possible! It was inspiring to contribute to a broader conversation about ethics in education and beyond.
