The RPS Parent Advisory Council (PAC) brings together approximately 25 parents from diverse backgrounds with the administration to engage as true partners in the educational process.
Meetings will alternate between virtual and in person to support increased participation and accessibility. The meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month from 6-7:30pm. The first meeting will be held in- person on October 11th. The Parent Advisory Council’s work will focus on a variety of areas, including advocacy and family engagement. This group will also serve as a representative body of parents and caregivers who will provide the Superintendent with feedback, share concerns, and ask questions about their children's educational experience.
We recognize that for many of our families, supporting the Parent Advisory Council may be one too many commitments for you during this super busy time of the year. If, however, you are willing and able to serve in this role, or know someone else who would, we ask that you please submit your application no later than Friday, September 15. In order to ensure both continuity in our leadership and to incorporate new perspectives, we will be selecting a mix of both returning and new members for this year’s PAC. Notifications of acceptance will be shared no later than Friday, September 29.

El Consejo Asesor de Padres (PAC, por sus siglas en inglés) de las Escuelas Públicas de Richmond reúne a 25 padres de diversas procedencias junto con la administración escolar para participar como verdaderos compañero/as en el proceso educativo.
Las reuniones se
alternarán entre virtuales y presenciales para apoyar una mayor participación y
accesibilidad. Las reuniones se llevarán a cabo el segundo martes de cada mes
de 6:00 p.m. a 7:30 p.m. La primera reunión se llevará a cabo en persona el 11
de octubre de 2022. El trabajo del Consejo Asesor de Padres se centrará en una
variedad de áreas, incluida la defensa y la participación familiar. Este grupo
también servirá como un grupo representativo de padres y tutores legales que
proporcionan comentarios al Superintendente, compartirán preocupaciones y harán
preguntas sobre la experiencia educativa de sus hijos.
Reconocemos que para
muchas de nuestras familias apoyar al Consejo Asesor de Padres puede ser otro
compromiso para ustedes durante esta época tan ocupada del año. Sin embargo, si
está dispuesto y es capaz de desempeñar este cargo, o conoce a alguien más que
lo haría, le pedimos que envíe su solicitud a más tardar el martes 27 de
septiembre de 2022. Para garantizar tanto la continuidad en nuestro liderazgo
como para incorporar nuevas perspectivas, seleccionaremos una combinación de
miembros nuevos y antiguos para el PAC de este año. Las notificaciones de
aceptación se compartirán a más tardar el lunes 3 de octubre.
