Beyond Siberia - Riding the Road of Bones Trailer

Beyond Siberia launching at Cannes!

As everyone may be aware, we filmed the epic 2014 Road of Bones and now we have some more amazing news, Compass Expeditions is going to Cannes, well the documentary that is, none of us own a tuxedo!!!
It is with great excitement that we announce that international television distribution company “Beyond” will represent our series and will be releasing it at MIPTV in Cannes; the worlds most prestigious TV / Digital market event, held annually at the Palais Des Festivals, Cannes.
Yvonne Body, Beyond Distribution’s Head of Acquisitions said: "We are very excited to be launching Beyond Siberia – Riding The Road of Bones at MIPTV. It’s an action-packed series that will appeal to audiences all over the world, who will share first-hand the hardships and dangers of the ride, as well as the spectacular scenery in countries that very few people will ever visit themselves. This is true armchair adventure."
Planning for our second TV series is well underway. This 2 part series will also be one of the world’s most challenging motorbike routes. Starting in Cairo and riding the full length of Africa arriving in Cape Town 3 months later.
We hope to have the DVD series available late April, stay tuned for more info!

Find out more about the 2016 London to Magadan

Speaking of Major Adventure

What kind of person does it take to complete a major expedition of 75 days or more? The most successful tours are always made up of people with a good sense of humour, excitement about the destinations and enthusiasm for the small events along the way. Its all about adventure and we've had our share of things that go wrong or threaten to change a meticulously planned adventure. On the 2014 London to Magadan we had an entire side of a mountain collapse and briefly cause us to replan the route back into Russia via a 10 day detour. Currently in Chile a Volcano is causing us to potentially reroute a tour.
The most important thing is to go into an adventure with the mindset that things can differ to the set plan. It is inevitable when travelling in certain parts of the world that the perfect route you had in your mind is not always possible for circumstances beyong your control. Whether you are travelling on your own personal adventure or taking part in a tour/expedition like the ones that we run, it is the people who are adaptable, can see the humour or who just think laterally are the ones who have the very best adventures. Often it is the road you don't expect to travel down that brings the most reward. The riders on the 2014 London to Magadan were an exceptional group of individuals but they also worked well as a team and found the funny side of the adventure whenever they could.
We look forward to having many of those same riders return for our upcoming 2016 South America 360 Expedition in Feb which travels around the circumference of South America, the next Cairo to Capetown in September 2015 and of course the next London to Magadan taking place in 2016.
