Peruvian Odyssey
Beginning in July 2016 Compass Expeditions is offering something a bit different in Peru. Our new Peruvian Odyssey offers a more in-depth experience of this incredible country and delivers some of the very best riding that the continent has to offer.
Most people have heard of Machu Picchu, Nazca and perhaps Lake Titicaca but not as many know about the incredible switchback corners of Limatambo or can boast of having ridden through the 35 tunnels of the Cañon del Pato (Duck Canyon) or of the hundreds and hundreds of miles of curving Andean roads that weave their way up mountains and through valleys. We've put together a motorcycle adventure that promises some of the best riding experiences of your life through the historical points of Peru. We'll delve into pre-Incan legends and stop at historic resting points, cross the Cordillera Blanca and Negra, ride the Panamericana Highway, witness the largest adobe block pyramids and see the largest adobe city in the ancient world.
We'll visit glacial lakes, ride through the deserts and view the condors soaring over the canyons before returning to Cuzco to view Machu Picchu. We always find that the further away from the tourist hotspots you are, the more authentic and rewarding the experience tends to be. With this adventure you can be sure to be immersed in the landscapes that leave an indelible impression on the senses, get more of appreciation of why Peru is so treasured, understand a bit more about the various cultures that rose and fell in it's remarkable history and to ride some of the best roads (with the least traffic) to be found anywhere in the world.
Come join us for 21 days in July 2016 or 2017. F700GS, F800Gs and R1200Gs available.
