Keeping Cool This Summer
As the weather starts to warm up, it's important to take care of you and your little ones in the heat. Just a reminder, classes will be held outside unless the temparatures are expected to be above 90 degrees or there is a Heat Advisory in effect during class time.
Here are some ideas to help you beat the heat:
Cold Gel Packs: A frozen gel pack wrapped in a dishtowel makes a wonderful climate control backrest in the stroller for your little one.
Frozen Water Bottle: Fill a water bottle ¾ of the way and then freeze it while it is partially on its side. Right before class, fill the remaining space with cold tap water to keep your drink cold throughout class.
Sunscreen & Hats: Protect you and your little one with sunscreen and hats during class. Consider applying sunscreen at home before heading to class to allow for better coverage.
Spray Bottle: Keep cold water and ice in a kitchen spray bottle to cool down during class. As an added bonus, look for spray bottles with fans on the nozzles for an extra cool blast.
Ice Towels: Wet a washcloth or dishtowel, fold it, and place it in the freezer. Before class, fill a ziplock bag with ice cubes and place your frozen towel inside. Use your cold cloth on your neck and arms as class heats up.
Clip-on/Misting Fans: You can find reasonably priced clip-on or misting fans to attach to the stroller to provide a breeze for your workout buddy. A tip from mamas who know – buy one early in the season before they are sold out. Click here for some options.
