Dear MNPS Community Member:
If we are honest, many of us probably feel extremely exhausted either mentally, physically or both due to our endless, hectic professional and/or personal lives. Add the stress derived from the current global crisis into the equation and the situation could become unbearable.
While we might not be able to control these circumstances, we can actually take certain steps to ensure our physical and/or socio-emotional health remain sound. Perhaps all we need is to take a day or more away to recharge ourselves. Perhaps just slowing down from our daily routines will do the trick. In this regard, I like John De Paola's words when he said, "Slow down and everything you are chasing will  come around and catch you."
By the way, next week is spring break and schools will be closed. District offices will remain open. When students and staff report back to school Monday, March 21, masks will no longer be required but strongly recommended.

Until next time!

This week on #MNPS Voices:

Joyce Callis, Office Support Substitute

A year after retiring in 2020, this long time MNPS employee came back to continue serving the district. She's still going strong.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS: Did you know students who miss just TWO days a month are less likely to graduate high school?

Driver's Licence Revocation

Families are reminded that students ages 15 – 17 who are withdrawn due to 10 consecutive (unexcused) absences or have 15 or more (unexcused) absences in a semester will be referred to the TN Department of Safety & Homeland Security for the denial or revocation of their TN Driver’s License and/or permit to drive. Read the procedure here.

How organizations and businesses can support Metro Schools

Helping every Nashville child be successful in school requires everyone doing their part to help. We value our community partners and their contributions to Metro Schools.
Several local nonprofits in Nashville partner with our students directly every day in a variety of ways by:
  • providing support services at our Family Resource Centers
  • mentorship and career opportunities through our Academies of Nashville
  • volunteering in person in our schools
  • donating directly to a school or district project
