STEVE TOBIN
Roots
Extended through January 31st!
We are delighted to present an exclusive online exhibition of 15 Roots by world renowned sculptor Steve Tobin. Fourteen magnificent Steelroots from 5’ to over 40’ tall and a diptych installation of two monumental Bronze Roots exemplify the breath of interpretation by Tobin of the most ubiquitous elements of the natural world.
In addition to monumental Steelroots in white, black, yellow, red or rusted and Bronze Roots with a red patina, we are pleased to include several home and garden sized Steelroots, including sculptures in the Dancing Roots series.
“I like the metaphors of the roots”, says Tobin, who has long found inspiration in natural objects and phenomena, “connectedness, unseen power, communities, families, networks all coming together for a shared purpose… any person in any time period can draw metaphors from the roots”.
Steve Tobin’s work has been extensively featured in exhibitions in North America, in Europe and in Asia. His works can be found in prestigious museum, corporate, private and public collections worldwide. He appears in over 70 media stories, including major feature stories in the Smithsonian Magazine, Newsweek, National Geographic Magazine, New York Times, Wall street Journal, Chicago Tribune, to name a few.
