Sign up now for the JEP Pre-Law Project
Looking for a meaningful law-related internship or interested in public interest law and nonprofits? Pre- Law Project (PLP) is a relatively new internship program whose aim is to shape undergraduate students into well-rounded candidates for law schools or careers in law and nonprofits. PLP provides students with real hands-on experience in the field of law, guided by personal reflection and group deliberation in the form of bi-weekly intern discussions, completion of an internship portfolio, and mandatory attendance of guest lectures throughout the semester. PLP students can intern at one of our 4 partner organizations and work anywhere between 4-8 hours per week, depending on their schedules. At the end of the semester, each student receives an official Letter of Confirmation from JEP and the sponsoring organization. Outstanding past interns have received letters of recommendation and even job offers from internship supervisors.
If you are interested in applying, please visit the JEP House and apply before Friday, January 23rd at 4:30 PM. For more information, please visit our website: http://dornsife.usc.edu/prelaw/.

Featured Law School: Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law
Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law is an ABA accredited Southern California private law school located about 35 miles southeast of USC on the beautiful Chapman University campus in the historic City of Orange, California. The law school is recognized for its superb faculty, diverse academic programs, and commitment to personalized skills-based legal education. Our students select from a variety of options to gain expertise in their chosen area of law, including participation in certificate programs, joint degrees, clinics, and award winning advocacy competition teams.
Fowler School of Law is recognized in the “Top Schools” category of US News and World Report and is ranked #3 for “Quality of Life” as reported by Princeton Review, where we have held a top 10 position every year since 2005. The law school has developed a strong reputation for offering an environment that is academically challenging yet non-competitive, with students who are friendly, collegial and collaborative. Chapman’s Fowler School of Law has one of the lowest student-to-faculty ratios in the nation, providing a highly personalized education and is extremely competitive when it comes to bar exam preparation. For the past four years we have exceeded the pass rate for California ABA Schools on the California Bar Exam.
Our state-of-the-art law school building, Donald P. Kennedy Hall, was recognized recently by PreLaw Magazine as one of the nation’s “Best Law Facilities.” In 2013, we received a historic $55 million gift from our law school’s namesake, Dale E. Fowler, which was then the second largest reported gift to a law school in U.S. history. This year, we surpassed the $1 million mark in an endowment created for our Practice Ready Legal Education Program, which is designed to add new skills training courses to our existing bar tested and doctrinal curricula. The endowment allows our full time faculty to partner with selected judges and attorney specialists to teach skills labs and other lawyering skills courses.
Please arrange for a tour of the law school or apply now at www.chapman.edu/law/admission/apply-now.
For additional information, please feel free to contact us at (714) 628-2500 or lawadmission@chapman.edu.
