On March 12, 2021, the office of the Governor established a new proclamation naming April in Tennessee Autism Acceptance Month - formally known as, Autism Awareness Month. This refreshing change marks an important shift in the autism community. Awareness is no longer enough. We must make space for a neurodiverse community whose ideas, voices, and talents are respected and celebrated.
We encourage you to follow along with AutismTN this month to see how we support your loved one with autism as well as autistic adults. From education events to our upcoming Birthday Bash at the Adventure Science Center, there's something for everyone.
