Friends,
I hope your 2020 has brought you joy and peace in the Lord! Mine has started out swiftly with ministry opportunities and time with family.
Gregg and I spent a week in Orlando with 5500 Young Life staff from across the world. After a week of worship and incredible speakers, I'm even more grateful for the privilege of helping to carry the good news to this next generation!
Over Martin Luther King weekend, I had the opportunty to serve as the camp director for Polar Bear at Clearwater Cove, our Young Life outreach camp with high school kids from Arkansas, Missouri and Texas. As you can see in the video above, meal times are some of the best times for teenagers to experience family and the feast represented by the gospel. My grandson, Wes, and daughter, Erica, came up for the day, and Wes wanted to help me out on the mic!
* PLEASE PRAY for the 300 campers that experienced the weekend. A number of kids met Jesus for the first time, and many are struggling with how to make sense of the world.
Last weekend, I helped serve 250 volunteer leaders at our annual Young Life Leadership Weekend at Clearwater Cove. We spent time in the Word and prayer, experiencing rest and community. Our hope is that our leaders "fan into flame the gift of God" (2 Timothy 1:6) given to them to bring adolescents to the feet of Jesus.
*PLEASE PRAY that these leaders will stay faithful to the call and be transformed more and more into the likeness of Christ.
Currently, I'm visiting my daughter, Amy and her family in Ohio. Well, let's be honest....I really needed some Teddy time! (Grandparenting is the best!)
I am deeply grateful for your partnership in this mission!
Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come. (Psalm 71:18)
