We are in busy event season for showers, graduations and weddings! Are you struggling with what to wear? Depending on the weather of course, but I love cute sundresses and pantsuits for showers and graduations. Pairing a pretty colorful (in your best colors), spring top with a crisp pair of white pants is always nice too. Don’t forget to accessorize!

Weddings can sometimes be a bit more difficult but pay attention to the dress code if it is listed on the invitation. I thought I would give you a few examples of what to wear for the various types of weddings.

I hope these tips help as we head into the busy wedding season. Of course kicking it off this weekend with THE Royal Wedding!! I know I will be watching!

Black Tie [Formal]

Long flowy dresses are great. Long skirts or palazzo pants and dressy tops are excellent choices for this type of wedding also. Remember, if you are wearing the flowy long skirt or palazzo pants to make sure your top is more fitted so it doesn’t look frumpy. Black is perfectly fine but just don’t choose white. Pick something in your best color and don’t forget the dazzling details in the accessories!

Cocktail [Semi-Formal]

Beautiful cocktail length or mid-length dresses are perfect for this type of wedding. Find something in a nice texture or metallic design. Choose solids or prints in the colors most flattering for you and add the sparkly extras!

Beach or Destination Wedding

Destination weddings are becoming more and more popular so a lot will depend on the destination. Don’t be afraid to ask the bride about the proper attire. Floral prints in sundresses or maxis are great for the beach. The off-the-shoulder dresses that are so popular now are also great. Accent with the perfect accessories!

Casual Wedding

These small summer weddings are also quite popular. Check out the venue to give you a clue on what will be appropriate to wear. Even though it will be casual, it is still important to look put together! Maybe a lighter fabric in a short dress, skirt or pants (dressier than jeans) with cute wedge heel sandals.
