Norway House's annual signature event is back in person this year, and we couldn't be more excited about the venue, and the auction, and the dinner, and the Going Viking Honorees, and the... well, you get the point. WE'RE SO EXCITED TO SEE YOU ALL.

We've chosen the brand new Omni Viking Lakes Hotel in Eagan as our venue. Sort of a perfect fit, right? You can take a digital tour on our website using the link below, and also see what's on the menu for dinner.

Tickets will be available soon at this site as well. Stay tuned to your Email and our Social Media pages in the coming week or so to be the first to know when they go on sale.

Including the three-course dinner and a glass of wine, the program, and the Going Viking Awards, tickets are $200. Members of Norway House will also enjoy an Exclusive Early Bird Price of $175 if booked by the end of our March Member Appreciation Month.

The Midtsommer Solstice is a magical time of year, and we so look forward to sharing it with you this June 13th!

A Midtsommer Gala tradition, The Going Viking Honors celebrate individuals and organizations “who embody the adventuresome and bold spirit of the Vikings by inspiring their communities to explore and discover new frontiers with courage and determination.”

STILL IN NEED OF STITCHERS!

As the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing come to a close, we’re holding a Knit-a-thon to showcase the sheer, unmatched focus, carpal athleticism, and painstaking dexterity of our local knitters (and crocheters)!

We’ve set up hour-long slots of knitting time, and we need your help to fill them up. Find a time that works for your schedule, sign up a friend to join you, and come on down to Norway House with your projects. By the end of the day, we’ll have a slow-TV-style video of non-stop knitting!

There is no fee to participate, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming of all ages, genders, and skill-levels. And because there are up to six knitters per time slot, you’ll be able to take breaks as needed throughout the hour.

Strikkekos, currently on display in the Gallery at Norway House, features 30 designs from Nina Granlund Sæther's book, Mittens from Around Norway. We're thrilled to have a chance to talk with Sæther via Zoom from her home in Norway, and we invite you to join us! She'll present a short program followed by a Q&A session moderated by Max Stevenson, Director of Exhibitions at Norway House.

Nina Granlund Sæther grew up in Asker, Norway, just outside Oslo. Her love of and interest in knitting, crocheting, sewing, and embroidery began largely before she received formal training.

She is educated as an art teacher and worked for a short time in high school. In 1987 she started her career as a journalist for Norsk Husflid, a Norwegian Arts and Crafts Magazine. Today she works as editor-in-chief of Hus & Bolig, a real estate magazine.

Sæther has written several books about arts and crafts and makes designs for Norwegian magazines. She creates original and visually striking crafts in a Scandinavian-influenced tradition.
