Happy New Year, Beautiful!
I want to thank all of you who have reached out to me with your kind and encouraging words and all the prayers going up on my behalf! I have felt every one!!
It has certainly been a crazy 4 weeks since my breast cancer diagnosis! My bilateral mastectomy two days before Christmas went very well as did the reconstruction surgery. I was able to go home Christmas Eve and spend Christmas with my family. My time since then has mostly been spent in doctor’s offices or in my recliner. I have had 4 drain pumps which have made moving around a little difficult but you all know it is going to take a lot to slow me down!
As an update, I saw my Oncologist this week and was able to go over the pathology report with him. He said it was complicated but he was so good to take time to explain it all to us. The report was lymph node negative which is good. However, I did have some microscopic isolated tumor cells that he is investigating with further testing which will determine what my risk rating is for it being other places. Based on the results of that test, he will determine if I will need chemo. It takes 3 weeks for the test to come back so more waiting. I really like him and he’s a Christian too! I have been blessed with a fabulous team of physicians and we are continuing to be encouraged for a positive outcome! Ultimately I know God is in control and I am in His hands! I will appreciate your continued prayers as I continue on this journey!
