Our Annual Autumnal Elegance Auction will be held on Wednesday, September 14th, starting at 11AM. As always, we will be offering remote or in-person previews by appointment from August 29th through September 9th.

Highlights include the Callot Soeurs Evening Gown shown here as well as a rare and documented couture Paquin Evening Cloak designed by Madeleine Wallis, Hiver 1924-1925. Additionally, two extensive archives from the Museum at FIT will be offered. One is the embroidery archive of Jacob Goldman comprising over 700 samples, 1930-1990s. The other is the press material archive of Eleanor Lambert, including over 250 New York Dress Institute Collection Press Material Duplicates as well as over 807 runway packets, designer portraits, fashion photos and additional documentation, from S/S 1982-A/W 1999.
As always a robust selection of 19th & early 20th century tea gownsday and travel ensemblesflapper dresses, and evening gowns from all eras are among the gems offered in abundance. Designer and vintage wearables abound as well with offerings from Gianni Versace, Chanel, YSL, Christian Lacroix, Thierry Mugler, Bonnie CashinLea Stein, Shultz, Courreges, Pavone, Bob Mackie, Galanos and Lilli Ann.

This auction will include clothing, textiles & accessories from  numerous museums including a large collection of Emilio Pucci & Missoni knitwear from The Museum at  FIT, items from The Estate of Doris Duke via The Newport Historical Society, textiles & costumes from From The Ohio State University Historic Costumes & Textiles Collection, and 20th C designer vintage & couture from Sam Houston State University.
