Through collaboration with community partners, student leaders, faculty, and staff, The Wilks Institute develops engaged leaders focused on ethical leadership and advancing community priorities. Students participate in and lead:

Voter registration drives

Interfaith Engagement

2. Meaningful Connections

Students that participate in a Wilks program their first year of college, stay engaged throughout their college experience. Many of the students that participate in our U-Lead presemester program end up staying connected through:

3. Critical Reflection and Civic Responsbility

The Wilks Institute challenges perceptions and assumptions of leadership and service by creating opportunities for critical reflection and education that prompt interpersonal and interpersonal growth. Students that engage with the Wilks Institute learn:

Self-awareness through dialogue and the exploration of their personal values.
The interconnected challenges of leadership, community, and civic engagement.
How to create a culture of civic responsibility that is asset-based and contributes to the common good.
