MMSA Welcomes Guaranty Bank as new Annual Investor
JACKSON, Miss. (March 31, 2022)—The Mississippi Main Street Association (MMSA) announces that Guaranty Bank has joined the state association as an Annual Investor at the Foundation level.
MMSA Annual Investors are private-sector businesses and organizations that support the statewide organization’s downtown revitalization mission through an annual financial contribution.
Headquartered in Belzoni, Miss., Guaranty Bank has branches located throughout the state and is committed to supporting community development efforts by sponsoring events in their local markets.
"Guaranty Bank is proud to support the Mississippi Main Street Association because we believe Main Street organizations are so important in catalyzing new investment and projects that create new jobs and attract visitors and improve the overall quality of life in the communities we serve," said Meagan Grisham, Marketing Specialist for Guaranty Bank. "We are also proud that one of our own branches in downtown Greenwood has been recognized for its historic rehabilitation."
Guaranty Bank won an Outstanding Historic Rehabilitation Project award from MMSA in 2020 for the rehabilitation of the historic Wilson Bank Building in downtown Greenwood. The building sat vacant for 10 years until Guaranty Bank decided to open a Greenwood branch. The rehabilitation of the 1916 Beaux Arts building included restoring the exterior and interior with the help of Belinda Stewart Architects.
MMSA is a non-profit organization that catalyzes the preservation and economic revitalization of Mississippi's historic downtowns and business districts. Currently, MMSA has 48 Designated Main Street programs in communities throughout Mississippi.
Annual Investors of MMSA at the Foundation level and higher include the Mississippi Development Authority, Mississippi Hills National Heritage Area, USDA Rural Development, Entergy Mississippi, Mississippi Power, Hancock Whitney Bank, Sanderson Farms, Guaranty Bank, and Renasant Bank.
"Since our inception nearly 40 years ago, MMSA has depended on private companies to support our work in downtown revitalization," said Thomas Gregory, MMSA State Coordinator. "We are proud of the high return on investment that Main Street programs accomplish in their communities."
"With more than $5 billion in total re-investment, we believe our work to preserve, promote, and revitalize Mississippi's downtowns is crucial in moving our state forward," Gregory said. "We are truly grateful for our Annual Investors, like Guaranty Bank, who make our work possible."
