Give Us Your Tired Bikes
On Sunday April 23rd, Pedal Power is participating in an event for seriously at-risk youth, and we need your help. With Monsters Cycling club of West Concord, we'll be running a bicycle refurbishing clinic at non-profit UTEC (United Teen Equality Center) of Lowell. We need decent used bikes for these kids to work on, so they can have basic transportation to and from work and school.
UTEC's mission is “to ignite and nurture the ambition of Lowell's most disconnected young people to trade violence and poverty for social and economic success.” Many of these young people are trying to break away from extremely difficult pasts, and UTEC is trying to help them gain the skills and training they desperately need.If you have an old steed that you’d like to see enjoy a valuable second life, bring it to Pedal Power Bike & Ski during this week. We’ll make sure that it gets to someone who needs it.
