THE UNITED FRONT
As 2019 comes to an end, United Way of the Mid-South has much to be thankful for. We appreciate our corporate and agency partners, our donors and our volunteers who contribute their time, talent and treasure throughout the year to move people from where they are to where they dream to be.  May your holiday season be merry and bright!
United Way is proud to share our 2018-19 Annual Report with you. Under the leadership of Rev. Kenneth S. Robinson, M.D., President and CEO, United Way of the Mid-South, and Scott Fountain, Chairman of the Board, United Way of the Mid-South, this past year saw tremendous growth in our Driving The Dream initiative as well as aligned grantmaking for our Community Impact Fund.

United Way’s Free Tax Prep program opens its doors on Monday, January 20, 2020 to prepare taxes for Mid-Southerners who earned $56,000 or less in 2019.  This year, we are hosting five super sites located at Southland Mall, Hickory Ridge Mall, United Way Plaza, Raleigh Library and Frayser Community Development Corporation.

In 2019, our Free Tax Prep program assisted individuals and families in filing almost 11,000 returns, giving back more than $14 million into the local economy.

Free Tax Prep will prepare returns through April 15, 2020. Select sites will be open through June 30, 2020 for extended tax preparation opportunities.

Please visit uwmidsouth.org/free-tax-prep for a full listing of sites.
Every December, our thoughts turn to time with family and friends. We are thankful for the many blessings that have been granted to us, but at the same time, we are aware that there are many in our community that are living in poverty.  At United Way, we are partnering with more than 120 high-performing agencies to ensure that we continue to be the leading catalyst for stimulating support and services for individuals and families as they progress from poverty to prosperity. If you would like to make a year-end gift to support our neighbors in need, please visit uwmidsouth.org/give or text POVERTY to 40403.
