This month we had a visit from a group of doctors, who wanted to bless our team by giving our missionaries free consults. A missionary lifestyle can be described by many things, but being healthy is not always one of them. We work strange hours, often run from one thing to another, and end up not taking care of ourselves that well. Because most of us moved out of our state or country to serve with Shores of Grace, not many have had the availability to go to doctors here in Recife. Some of our missionaries did not have a regular check-up for many years, so you can imagine our hearts were overwhelmed by the love and care these doctors showed us. Among the specialists were a nutritionist, gynecologist, cardiologist, and many more. We felt so incredibly blessed to know that God sent us these doctors to take care of things we often forget about. Or in other situations, never had the ability to go because many of our staff do not have health insurance. As much as these doctors blessed us, they were very impacted by what God is doing here as well. So much so, that they will be coming back next month to check up on all the exams they had us do. Our father never fails to show us how much he loves and cares for His sons and daughters!
In the last newsletter, we wrote about the girl that had severe disabilities after a shooting. She stayed with us for about 6 months, however, this month the judge approved her to go home and stay with her family. This was something that she has wanted since she arrived at Vila Betania. We can only imagine the joy she must have felt to finally be able to go home. We wish her a beautiful future with her family and pray that she recovers, even more, to be able to take care of herself and her unborn child.
