Any Curveballs Lately?
When life throws you a curveball, what is your reaction? For most of us, we think we have things all planned out and then all of a sudden things take an unexpected turn. It can be a small bump in the road and after a quick detour we're back on track, but other times it can seem like a total road block causing us to pause and re-think our destination.
Fortunately, God is our ultimate GPS and if we will "be still and listen" He will always get us back on track to the route He has designed for us.
Since my breast cancer diagnosis on December 11, I have hit a few roadblocks along the way from the initial treatment plan. Thankfully, God has carried me through each one and taught me valuable lessons along the way. I made it through the chemo treatments they initially didn’t think I would need and my hair is even starting to grow back! I have to take an estrogen blocking pill for the next 5 years and thankfully I am finally adjusting to the side effects. I had implants inserted on June 2nd and was doing very well until last week when I developed a severe infection and had to have immediate surgery to remedy it. This was definitely a curve ball I didn’t see coming and I can honestly say I was not happy about it. I am thankful for good doctors and medical care, but its definitely a setback in my healing. It will be several months before I am able to have a new implant so there are going to be a few more obstacles to overcome before my reconstruction is complete.
