BOYS BASKETBALL OPENS WITH WIN VERSUS PANTHERS


The Mason boys basketball team got their 2017-18 season started last Saturday with a 73-50 win over Springboro.  The Comets held a 19 point advantage at the half and never looked back.
Tanner Knue led Mason with 17 points.  Noah Pedelty added 11.
Mason boys vist Loveland on Tuesday and then open at home against Colerain on Friday, Dec. 8th.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

GIRLS BASKETBALL 2-1 AFTER EARLY SEASON START


The Mason girls basketball team has played three games in their early season 2017-18 start.  See details below:
The Mason Girls Basketball team opened the 2017-18 season against the Journey to the Tourney team and fell in a close one 42-40.

Junior Sammie Puisis led the Comets with 21 points.

Mason overwhelmed Colerain on November 29 winning 70-3 in the lopsided affair. Mason allowed the Cardinals a single field goal and free throw in the 4th quarter to avoid the shutout.

Every Comet player scored in the game with Sammie Puisis leading with 16 points.

The girls posted another overmatched victory last Saturday, defeating Middletown 80-38.

No details of the game were available.

Next up the Comets (2-1,2-0) visit Fairfield on Wednesday, Dec. 6th.

BOYS SWIMMING AND DIVING
BOYS SWIMMING/DIVING PLACE THIRD AT MASON INVITE

Both the boys & girls varsity swim teams opened up their season on Saturday hosting the Mason Invitational. Both teams finished 3rd over and swam incredibly well considering the prelim - final format. 

Top 8 performances were turned in by:

Boys:

Cole Petersen - 7th place in the 200 Freestyle & 5th place in the 500 Freestyle

Roman Groenewold - 8th place in the 200 Freestyle

Alex Gao - 7th place in the 100 IM

Davis O'Brien - 6th place in the 50 Freestyle

Thomas Driskell - 8th place in the 50 Freestyle 

Nick Conti - 3rd place in the 100 Butterfly

Harrison Wright - 2nd place in the 100 Breaststroke

200 Medley Relay - 4th - Alex Gao, Harrison Wright, James Kim, Thomas Driskell

200 Freestyle Relay - 4th - Thomas Driskell, Harrison Wright, Cole Petersen, Davis O'Brien

400 Freestyle Relay - 3rd - Cole Petersen, Roman Groenewold, Davis O'Brien, Alex Gao

Next up the Mason swim/dive teams will entertain Lebanon/Loveland and Princeton in a quad meet on Saturday, Dec. 9th.

WRESTLING TEAM OPENS SEASON AT HARRISON DUALS


Mason Wrestling started off its Varsity season at the Harrison Duals this past Saturday under 1st year head coach Matt McIntire. Mason entered the duals with a partial roster, fielding 9 of 14 weight classes. Mason went 3-2 in dual team results:

Mason 36 East Central 18

Mason 40 Franklin County 24

Mason 15 Brownburg 45

Mason 38 Hewitt-Trussville 18

Mason 21 Harrison 57 


Sam Glasso went 5-0 on the day, knocking off Drew Kreitzer, #4 in Indiana, 11-6. Christopher Donathan also went 5-0, pinning Connor Smith, Ranked #1 in Alabama, along the way.

The Comets travel to Perry Meridian, Indiana, for the Falcon duals next Saturday, Dec. 9th.

GIRLS BOWLING IS UNDERWAY....


The girls bowling team came in 14th place out of 18 teams at the Big Blue Tourney this past Sunday. The girls had a grand total of 2737 pins on the day. See scores below:

BOYS BOWLING

BOYS BOWLING OFF TO GREAT START!


Mason Boys Bowling opened their season Nov. 27th defeating East Clinton 2944 to 1337.  Top scorers were Evan Haas at 490, Nick Visalli at 448, and Kian Encarnacion at 435.

The 2944 team total marks the team's best start in the past 7 years.

The boys bowlers rolled at the Hamilton Big Blue Tourney this past Saturday and finished in third place behind Centerville and Oak Hills HS. Evan Haas was the top bowler (744), 30 pins and well ahead of his nearest competitor .

Damian Sauer also had a great day with a 6th place finish. See scores below:
