Kate Ikehara
Kate was born and raised in sunny Honolulu, Hawaii. She attended the University of Southern California and graduated in 2012 with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Communication and the Entertainment Industry. Upon graduation, she worked as a clerk at a law firm in Torrance for one year before returning home to USC for law school. This past summer, Kate externed for the Honorable Andrew J. Wistrich at the United States District Court for the Central District of California. She is excited to serve as the Social Chair for the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association this year. Kate loves cooking, going to the beach, and discovering new restaurants.
Ana Luiza Reyngach
Ana Luiza was born in Brazil and grew up in the Bay Area. She attended the University of California, San Diego for undergrad and majored in sociology, with a concentration in law and society, and psychology. During her 1L summer, Ana externed for Judge Wilner in the Central District of California. She wants to pursue a career in federal prosecution or international human rights (details to be determined). Ana has so many interests that she cannot possibility fit everything into one lifetime. She is in love with the ocean and everything in it. She kayaks, paddleboards, snorkels, and occasionally takes on a surfboard. JEP's Pre-Law Program

The Pre-Law Project provides students curious about a career in law with real legal experience. It gives those interested in the field of law some actual hands on experience before making the substantial investment to attend law school.

Students can go to www.usc.edu/jep to sign-up and are also welcome to stop by the JEP House to do it in person. We are currently finalizing our placements, but two of the opportunities we will be having are:

- Bet Tzedek, a public interest firm serving 12,000 low-income Angelenos every year where students can work as intake assistants and legal assistants in the Self-Help Conservatorship Clinic.

- Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project where students assist lawyers that are educating and representing immigrants in removal proceedings in Immigration Court.
