With our staff returning and projects starting, September is an exciting month for Shores of Grace. After 5 months of not being able to go to the streets, the Father’s love team has returned to connect with those in prostitution. As our base is located in a new area, we won’t just be going to the streets in the center of Recife, but also to the area known for prostitution close to our base. Since it has been such a long time since the team has gone to the streets, they are searching for direction and guidance for both locations. One of the things that has become apparent, is that there are many young and new women on the streets. The conversations have been challenging due to many of the women and men being under the influence of drugs.
Our Street Church team has had their first two weeks back on the streets as well. It has been great re-connecting with people and families they had not seen or talked to for a long time. While walking from the parks to the street corners the team prayed and conversed with the people living or entering the area daily. As they continue to go out on Thursday nights, they are discovering the change of movement, locations, and people that has taken place over the last five months, with the goal of finding new places where we can continue to reach out to the least of these. Be praying for the teams for direction and wisdom in these beginning stages.
