Message from the Interfraternity Council President:
Good Evening!
My name is Zack Kirshner, I currently serve as the President of the Interfraternity Council at Grand Valley State University. I am writing this letter, to inform you of the upcoming dates associated with the Interfraternity (IFC) Council Elections for the 2021 school year.
Applications are now available on Laker Link under the Interfraternity Council portal, here. The description of the positions are located at the bottom of this letter.
Requirements:
To be a representative on the Executive Board, the individual:
- Must be an initiated member in good standing.
- Must have completed at least 30 credit hours.
- Maintain a 2.7 grade point average; at any time if an officers GPA drops below 2.7 requirement cumulative he will be subject to removal from his position.
- Must have no outstanding sanctions with the Office of Conduct and Conflict Resolution
Applicants will need to submit (2) two letters of recommendation or support from the following: academic professor, and your chapter. Letters of recommendation must be on official letterhead.
Once you have completed your application you will submit your documents via the IFC Laker Link portal, here. Below are important reminders, and deadlines:
Election Deadlines & Timeline:
October 27, 2020 – Applications Open
November 5, 2020 – Submission for Applications Close at 5pm
November 6-10, 2020 – Application review (present candidates)
November 11-13, 2020 – Interviews with election committee
November 13, 2020 – Chapters notification of slate
November 17, 2020 – Elections speeches and voting
Additional Dates:
If elected to the Executive Board, you will be required to attend the following events:
November 10 & 17: IFC General Body Meeting (Email Zack for zoom link)
November 24th: Executive Board Installation
January 2021: Greek Summit (TBA)
