Hello Runner!
Saturday was an amazing day!  You should feel proud of your accomplishment.  So you may be asking yourself, What do I do now?
When any goal race has come and gone, it's easy to get the post-race blues and fall back into old patterns.  You've worked too hard to let that happen, and we're here to help!
1) Join us on Wednesday nights.  We welcome all runners to join us on Wednesday nights.  Most of our runs are longer than 3 miles(between 3.5 and 4.5 miles). Last night's run was 3.86 and one of our very own P2T Lasty participants, Dana, ran the whole thing.  You can too!  Almost all the runners in the main group, which starts at 6:10pm, run from a 12 minute mile to faster than that.  If that is a little to aggressive for your pace, join the Lasty Nasty group,  The Lasty group meets at the exact same place, and does the same run as the main group, but they start early to accomodate the slower paces.  Check out their Facebook page for the exact starting time, which is usually 5:45, but can change week to week depending on who is showing up.  Link is here https://www.facebook.com/groups/143268219138688/
2) 5K to 5 Miles.  We just took you from the couch to a 5, now we want to help you go from 5K to 5 miles.  Beginning...P2T coaches, Bree Roy and Diane Zandstra will lead runs that slowly build up to 5 miles.  The group will be meeting outside the Shelby Park Nature Center on Saturdays starting after Labor Day.  Everyone is welcome to join!  The goal is to build you up to the point where you can run the Boulevard Bolt on Thanksgiving which is a 5 mile race.  You don't have to be running that race to join these runs.  More details will come out closer to the end of the month.  Between now and then, I know many of the runners will keep running on Saturday mornings 7am at Shelby.  Please come join us.
4) Remember our goal. Understand that it was never our intention to make all of you into future marathon runners.  If that is one of your personal goals, then we are here to help.  But if you just keep run/walking 30-45 minute 5 times a week, you will keep improving.  Your body still has a lot of fitness gain from just this level of activity.  Please keep going!
5) YOU!  You can continue this journey!  You are the one who showed up for the trainings!  You are the one who signed up for the race! You are the one who finished!  You are who we are so proud of!  You have made this summer something special!  You are why the coaches come out!  You can keep this going!
Your friend in running,
ENFL!
