________________________________

Mason Girls Lacrosse took on a tenacious Turpin Spartans team last night (Thursday) in the season home opener. Comet Lady Laxers brought it in a big way! Dominating defense, powerful full field re-defend, relentless shooting and solid goal keeping, brought home our second victory of the season.

Mason came out fast and hot scoring quick goals, controlling the game and took an 8-3 lead into half time. With no rest for the weary, your Comets continued the to press and played a precision game, picking up many 50/50 ground balls and matching Turpins scores goal for goal.

In the end Mason Girls were to much to handle and won 13-9 to remain undefeated for the season. Mason Comet standouts for the game were Meghan Cole who netted five goals, Rhys Green and Julia Block both with hatricks. Cate Millard and 'Birthday Girl' Ally Petrina each had a goal. Comet defensive four, Julia Wirth, Megan Elko, Emmaline Russel and Brighton Ecoffey choreographed a solid wall to keep the Spartans at bay. Bee Kuehn and Rachel Albers split the duty between the pipes with a combined 13 saves.

Next up for your Mason Girls Lacrosse team is a home game versus Lakota West on Saturday 3/25. JV start at 10:30 and Varsity game is at Noon. Come on out and support your Mason HS Girls Lacrosse teams! Go Comets.
