FUTURE GOAL: Winning Horizon League championship at NKU.

Mason senior Anna Brinkman is a two-sport athlete in basketball and volleyball.

In basketball, she is a four-year varsity player. Her junior year, she averaged 6.5 points, 7 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game for the Lady Comets. Her 54.5 field goal percentage was second best in the GMC as she helped the Lady Comets to a GMC co-championship with a 15-1 record in conference play and the district championship, finishing with a 23-4 record over all.

A volleyball four-year varsity starter at middle and outside hitter, her senior year Anna helped the Lady Comets to a second straight GMC championship, going an undefeated 9-0 in league play. They were 21-4 over all and were regional semi-finalists. She had a league-leading 253 kills with 185 digs and 41 service aces, earning 1st team all-GMC honors for the third straight year and 2nd team all-Ohio for the 2nd time.

In club volleyball, Anna played for the Elevation team that won the 2016 U.S. National Division championship, and she was named MVP of the tournament. A great student who is active in community service, Anna will play volleyball collegiately at Northern Kentucky University.

Her favorite athlete is Steph Curry, favorite entertainer is Luke Bryan, favorite book is Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, favorite movie is Coach Carter and most-like-to-meet is Jennifer Lawrence.

BOYS BASKETBALL BEATS EAST!




Mason boys basketball kept their record unblemished on Tuesday night at 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the GMC. The Comets won a physical battle and the game against visiting Lakota East 61-58. 
Mason led most of the game and held off the Hawks in the final minutes with a tenacious defensive effort against a strong offensive opponent. Tanner Knue scored 17 points in the contest to lead the Comets. Ethan Howard chipped in 12. Knue also dished out assists to his teammates. Noah Pedelty grabbed 9 rebounds. 
Mason will visit Middletown this Friday night to help them open their new arena. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 pm.

GIRLS BOWLING FALLS TO FAIRFIELD



Mason Girls bowiling lost to Fairfield 1711 to 2299 on Monday night. 

High scorer for the team was Liz Popp 177 and 166.

High scorer for Mason was Evan Haas with a 457 series ( 246-211 ).
