The love affair with football in America is real, and the Dallas Cowboys have long been at the heart of the fandom.

When it comes to athletics, the players on the field aren’t the only ones in action. Between brand-building, media relations, handling high-profile sponsors, stadium and event marketing and more — there are a lot of moving pieces for PR pros off the field.

In this presentation, Joe Trahan, Media Relations and Corporate Communications Coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, shares the importance of agility in building a winning communications strategy for a highly visible company – from kick-off to touchdown and the fumbles in between.

Trahan is in his 15th season with the Dallas Cowboys as the Media Relations and Corporate Communications Coordinator, 16th overall in the NFL. Along with being a member of the football communications staff, he is also the press contact/media coordinator for all major events at AT&T Stadium and The Star in Frisco.

Trahan has gained experience throughout the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, the NCAA sports ranks and as internationally in the final season of NFL Europe with the 2007 World Bowl Champion Hamburg Sea Devils (Germany). Trahan owns two degrees from The University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor’s of Science (Sport Administration) and a Master’s of Arts (Public Relations).

Scheduled for April 7 at noon via Zoom. Get your tickets today at Eventbrite. Admission is free for PRSA members and PRSSA students. Non-members are welcome to attend for just $10.

Our March Meeting: Here's What You Missed!
Jill Allen, chief operating officer, joined us for our March meeting and shared all about Urban Story Ventures.
The real estate development company doesn’t just work to redevelop spaces, they offer a service to help shape the community. Urban Story Ventures continues to choose properties where they can grow and make an impact. Where many might just jump into a city and start developing, they look at each project within the city, its tenants and area needs.
Allen shared this statement during the presentation, “It doesn’t need more cubicles and beige carpet. Our commercial real estate agency creates spaces for big ideas to become big projects, for local talent to showcase their creativity, and for inspiring stories to be told.”
This Chattanooga based real estate development company shares great content and video clips on their website about projects in Chattanooga where they were able to breathe life into older structures:
  • The James Building
  • The Dome Building
  • The Edney
Here are some fascinating facts and what attendees had an opportunity to learn during the presentation:
  • 2 million square feet of commercial real estate over almost 200 million acres!
  • How Urban Story Ventures setup their brand guideline for consistency and recognition.
  • Social media content strategies, what they focus on and how they engage with their audience.
  • Tons of information all about THE BEND – Chattanooga’s next great neighborhood!

    • The former GE Alstom Property and how they were selected
    • Why hiring Dover, Kohl & Partners were the best choice to help them revamp The Bend
    • The branding they worked long and hard on to show a long-standing look and message for the newest part of the city
