Angela Easterling Concert Book List

Angela Easterling gave a lively concert to an enthusiastic crowd at Central Library last week. The program included a blend of Easterling's original works, cover songs, and storytelling about the artists and books that have influenced her work.
We're happy to say that the following books mentioned in her concert are all available through the MRL catalog. Perhaps reading these will influence you, too?

Elkton Walking Tour Highlights

We enjoyed beautiful weather and a large, appreciative crowd for our Historic Elkton Walking Tour last week. Attendees enjoyed learning more about the area's history and we're hopeful to offer another tour sometime in the near future. Until then, don't forget that we have extensive local history items in our MRL collection, as well as highly skilled professional librarians at our Central Library who are eager to assist you with any research project or inquiry you may have.
You can even Book a Librarian to get an hour-long appointment for personal assistance with your information needs. We're here to help inform, inspire, and connect you!

#getcardedatMRL!

We've loved seeing so many folks #getcardedatMRL this month! We've met many new cardholders and welcomed back others who needed to renew their card. This week on our Facebook and Instagram pages we featured how library cards benefit newcomers and college students away from home. Even the fun folks at Harrisonburg Family and Cosmetic Dentistry shared a photo saying, "I love my library card because not only can I check out physical books, I can check out books on my Kindle!" There's still time to share your own photo collage, selfie, or sentiment about what having a library card means to you. Email us at this link with your photos and thoughts as we wrap up Library Card Sign Up Month!
