in LA Waterfront Film

September 9, 2014
Join us on Sunday, September 14 at 3pm at the Warner Grand Theatre for the premier of Emmy Award winning filmmaker Jack Baric's LA Waterfront, and help support the College Bound program of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the LA Harbor.
LA Waterfront is a documentary film that tells the history of jobs at the Port of Los Angeles and examines the education and high skills training that Harbor area residents will require to stay competitive in the global economy. The film features the inspirational stories of POLAHS alumni Cesar Guerrero and Jackie Zavala! Additionally, the film highlights ILWU members and leaders such as Mayor Eric Garcetti; Congresswoman Janice Hahn; Councilman Joe Buscaino; Harbor commissioners Anthony Pirozzi and Dave Arian; ILWU Local 13 President Bobby Olvera; Los Angeles Chamber CEO Gary Toebben; and new AltaSea CEO Rachel Etherington.
Tickets are $10 and 100% of the box office ticket sales will benefit College Bound. We hope to see the POLAHS community there on Sunday!
Dear POLAHS Community,

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor has secured an opportunity for the Lakers Youth Foundation to refurbish the gym in the Liberty Hill Plaza facility.
They are one of only two finalists in the Lakers Basketball Court Refurbishment Contest – whichever organization gets the most online votes wins! If successful, this project will directly benefit POLAHS students.
One vote per email address. Voting ends September 12. As winners, representatives from the Lakers will visit to celebrate the new gym.
