Friends,
As I write this, the heat index in Northwest Arkansas is 102 degrees. Being outside is not much of an option! So I'm sitting in the air-conditioning reflecting on what God has done the last couple months.
We've had an incredibly eventful summer filled with one purpose: that the 170 adolescents and leaders from NWA experiencing YL summer opportunities, from camp to small groups, to serving at a YL camp, would hear the ultimate truth that they are deeply loved by an all-powerful God who wants relationship with them.
We had open hearts and we had agnostics. We had kids from churched homes and kids from atheist homes. We had kids meet Jesus for the first time and kids who decided to lean in deeper and live for Him. ALL GLORY TO GOD!
But as much as I love summer (and hate cold weather!), when it gets to be over 100 degrees, I start looking forward to the fall! Not just for the cooler weather--but for the crazy times ahead. Because God will turn our crazy, impossible schedules and dreams into amazing realities as we seek His desires to reach THE GENERATION.
In the next two weeks, we are praying and planning. Please join us in praying for God's plans and God's annointing. Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.--Proverbs 16:3.
To Him we commit our YLCollege kick off week, August 21-27, with outreach and YL leadership training getting started. We commit the kick off of our 4 high school clubs, Wyldlife club, YoungLives club, and Capernaum club--all within the first few weeks of school starting.
We have 90 volunteer leaders coming back to Fayetteville! Let's pray for their ministries to be fruitful.
In Young Life, we are passionate about the idea that every adolescent--the athelete, the musician, the popular, the marginalized, the teen mom, the kid with special needs, the rich, the poor, the artist, the debater--every kid age 12-22--deserves to hear about the God who loves them like crazy. So we are passionate about the ministry opportunities ahead!
