Earthen Vessel Dinner a Success!
More than 350 guests gathered at the Denver Marriott South last week for CLC’s 24th Annual Earthen Vessel Dinner. The evening, themed “The Rhythms of Life,” featured renowned Colorado photographer John Fielder presenting a breathtaking collection of photos from his current book A Colorado Winter paired with piano accompaniment from residents Peggy Neville and Phyllis Dye

As a part of his presentation, John shared his touching story of his wife’s early-onset dementia journey. Because of this personal connection, he generously donated 30 percent of the evening’s book sales to our new Rhythms Dementia Services program.

A Helpful Option?

When we think of making a charitable gift, our checkbook is often the first thing that comes to mind. There are other options, of course. If you’re age 70 1/2 or older, your IRA might be an impactful new source for your philanthropy.

By using a “Qualified Charitable Distribution,” you can make a gift directly from your IRA to Christian Living Communities. A simple letter of instruction is all that’s needed, and as an added benefit a ‘QCD’ can also fulfill your Required Minimum Distribution for the year.

This program was funded in part by a grant from the Kellogg Foundation, whose purpose is to “raise the floor” in terms of sustainable wages and career growth for students with children under 13.
