Student Life Awards

The Office of Student Life hosts the annual Student Life Awards to highlight amazing student leaders and student organizations for their dedication to GVSU!

Students, registered organizations and university faculty/staff/departments may be nominated for several awards including programming awards, individual awards, & organizational awards along with area specific recognition. A full list of all the awards available with a description of each award can be found below.

Apply to be a Democracy Fellow!

Campus Vote Project (CVP) is dedicated to helping students gain access to the ballot and increasing youth voter turnout. CVP is seeking students to serve as GV's Democracy Fellows in Fall 2022.
  • New Fellows will receive a $1,200 stipend in two installments ($500 at the end of their first semester in the spring and $700 at the end of the fall semester).
  • Fellows should be prepared to spend 10 hours per week on the program during the
    spring and fall semesters.

March's topic is "Making Change Through Shared Governance", and will include Student Senate and campus leaders who will chat with us about what "shared governance" means and how students can engage in this process.

Learn About Election with Elect Her

Elect her is an election training program by Running Start where you can earn the skills needed to run for office now and in the future, to communicate your passion for change and service and to network. It's also a great opportunity to meet elected women from across the Michigan community and learn from their experiences!

Host a Blood Drive or Donate Blood at GVSU

Do you want to help save lives? Does your organization require volunteer hours? Sign up to host a dlood Drive in partnership with Versiti Blood Center this Winter Semester!     
The next Versiti blood drive is March 24th (10am - 3:45pm) in KC 2263.

If you would just like to donate, stop by a blood drive hosted by American Red Cross! Red Cross will be hosting blood drives in Holton-hooker Hall all Winter semester.

Campus Vote Project is hosting the Midwest Student Summit! The summit is open to students, faculty, administrators, and community partners from campuses around 13 Midwestern states. The event includes hearing from elected officials, looking at the landscape of the 2022 midterm election, and campus action planning.
