RTSWS Goes to Washington DC

Visits with Members of Senator Jacky Rosen's Office to Discuss the Senate Women in STEM Caucus
This week, RTSWS CEO & Founder, Maura Cunningham, and Student Learning & Development Manager, Sarah Sepanski, traveled to Washington DC to meet with Senator Rosen’s office to discuss the Senate's Women in STEM Caucus, a newly launched initiative by Senator Rosen (D-NV) and Senator Capito (R-WV).
The Women in STEM Caucus is a bipartisan group that is working to advance women in science, technology, engineering and math education and careers. RTSWS is working with Senator Rosen's office in developing policy in connection with specifically gender and racial equity in the M in STEM as is relates to finance. 

During their time in D.C., Maura and Sarah also met with
The National Cathedral School, Nasdaq, The Investment Company Institute and the CFP Board.
Day 1:
Inside the Hart Senate Office Building, where RTSWS met with Senator Rosen's office.

The view from the National Cathedral School, where Maura spoke with the 9th grade class about RTSWS' mission of getting more women into finance. Afterwards, RTSWS led finance activities on financial literacy, investment literacy and careers within the finance industry.
Day 2:
The CFP Board is an organization that administers the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) program and U.S. financial planning professionals. Currently, only ~23% of certified financial planners are women.
Nasdaq is a global electronic marketplace that enables the trading of stocks, derivatives, fixed income and commodities. 
Fun Fact: In 2016, RTSWS rang Nasdaq's closing bell in NYC!
