Dear staff members,
In recognition of the outstanding work the Vanderbilt staff community continues to demonstrate, I will be implementing two administrative closure days in December 2022.
The two paid closure days will be observed on Wednesday, Dec. 21, and Thursday, Dec. 22, directly preceding Vanderbilt’s winter break for university employees, when the university will be closed Dec. 23–Jan. 2.
As I mentioned at the all-staff meeting earlier today, our staff members continue to elevate the university’s mission through their excellence and dedication. I hope you will use these additional paid days off to recharge, focus on personal well-being and spend time with family and friends during the holiday season.
Vanderbilt University never fully closes, and there are certain jobs and tasks that must continue to keep our mission moving forward. Please consult with your manager about any special situations or requirements affecting your ability to take time off.
Thank you for your continued dedication and service as we look ahead to an even brighter 2023.
Sincerely,
Daniel Diermeier
Chancellor
