Welcome to the first fall 2021 edition of our biweekly SA + OUE newsletter!

Welcome (back) to campus! We are SO glad you are here.

With FDOC behind us, it's time to officially dive into the semester ahead! We're so glad we've gotten to see so many of you during the last few days, whether during move-in and  orientation week, at the long-awaited 2024 class photo, or in passing on the plaza on FDOC.
We hope to see you a lot more this fall. We are both available for office hours this semester, and would love to see you there! To meet with Mary Pat, sign up here. To meet with Gary, make an appointment here. Hope to see you soon.
Go Duke,
Mary Pat McMahon, Vice Provost of Student Affairs
Gary Bennett, Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education

COVID updates

The Delta variant is complicating many of our plans for fall. Check out the video above for some thoughts to keep in mind as we open the fall semester. TLDR:

1. Wear your mask indoors, including in residential common areas.

2. Eat outside as much as possible, or take your food to-go.

3. Participate in surveillance testing weekly.

ICYMI: There's never been a better time to be a good neighbor.

Last week, Deans Blackshear and Adams sent a message to all off-campus Duke students with tips on how to be an ambassador for Duke in your neighborhood.
