Tomorrow....

...which is to say, Sunday, July 25, Sir Rod & The Blues Doctors will be playing a house party in Birmingham, Alabama from 3 to 6 PM.  We are smoking hot after our recent East Coast tour.  If you're within driving distance and want to party on a summer afternoon, please think about joining us.  (It's BYOB but there will be snacks, I'm told.)

About that tour

Wow!  Eleven days, six gigs in four states, 3400 miles door(s) to door(s).  We made a lot of music and a bit of money (thanks for those tips & merch sales!), we had big fun, and we really enjoyed meeting those of you who showed up and cheered us on.
As a trio of vaxxed guys in the 55-69 age group, we trusted in the vax; the only concession I made to COVID-19 was bumping fists with fans rather than shaking hands--since I cup my hands to my mouth for extended periods of time, as y'all know, and shaking hands with somebody in that context is like kissing everything and everybody they've recently touched.  And here's the good news:  We are all fine.  Y'all breathed in our faces at every gig.  We are fine.  The vaccines work.  Live music survives.  This fact alone was a huge relief and made the tour a success.
We've got lots of live video and will share a bit of it next time around.  In the meantime, here are two clips--the first courtesy of blues friend Anita Marie in Richmond, the second courtesy of Rod Patterson via Jamey's House of Music:

New product, sort of

A couple of times a year, a prospective customer emails to ask if, for a price, I offer something like open access to my videos and tabs.  I don't have the functionality to do that--or so I thought--and I honestly wasn't sure that I wanted to make it easy for some bootlegger in China or Russa (for example) to purchase all my stuff and throw it out there on the dark web.  So I've resisted this temptation.  Until now.
Recently, when one more eager prospective customer asked me about a complete download, I decided to make it happen.  Now, for a price of $150, you can purchase and easily download ALL the video lessons and tabs that I currently have for sale at Modern Blues Harmonica.  (Purchased individually, these 150+ files would cost $510.  So there's a steep discount.)
This collection surely isn't for everybody.  But for a handful of yoiu, it will make sense as a no muss, no fuss option.  An investment in your future.  (Whether such an investment can transform you into a blues harp badass depends on many things, of course, including your God-given talents and your willingness to do the work.  No guarantees from me!)

That's all for this time.  I've gotta go and pack my stuff for tomorrow's gig.
