Gwinnett County Association of Educators

GAE President
Lisa Morgan
NEA President
Becky Pringle
To our members in Gwinnett County:
On behalf of more than 3 million members of the National Education Association, which includes the 25,000 members of the Georgia Association of Educators, we are pleased to congratulate the newly installed leadership team of the Gwinnett County Association of Educators (GCAE).
President Brian Westlake, Vice President Nicole Trimble, Treasurer Jonathan Dixson, and Secretary Danielle Brown were elected through a fair process that was in complete accordance with the GCAE and GAE Constitution and Bylaws. We have attached the notice of their November 24, 2020 election for your information. We are confident that this team will work hard in Gwinnett County to achieve NEA’s primary goal of reclaiming public education as a common good.
We are living through an era that has challenged public school educators more than ever before—a time during which educators have had to adapt and give more to their students, while simultaneously striving to keep their own families healthy and safe.
The coronavirus pandemic, and the additional crises it created, has forced this nation to see what we educators see every day: the inequities that hamper students’ ability to learn—especially Black and Hispanic students, other students of color, and students who live in marginalized communities.
This is the time for NEA members in Gwinnett County, the state of Georgia, and across our nation to stand together in solidarity. With President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris headed to the White House and Dr. Jill Biden, an NEA member, poised to become our next first lady, the time is ripe for us to join together and work harder than ever to transform public education into something it was never created to be:  a racially and socially just and equitable system that’s actually designed to prepare every student—every single one—to succeed in a diverse and interdependent world.
We have every confidence that the new leaders of GCAE will do all they can to make that vision a reality in Gwinnett County.
 Becky Pringle & Lisa Morgan
