Dear Postdoctoral Community,
Happy New Year! I hope you had a restful break and have been able to return to your work recharged.
We are excited about new programs and initiatives that will be rolled out in 2023. New Postdoc Orientation for VUMC postdocs will begin this month. Additionally, we have launched monthly coffee breaks for new postdocs joining the Vanderbilt community. Look for more information on ongoing programming as we continue to work with our campus partners. Finally, we will be opening nominations for our annual postdoc awards early in the semester.
The start of the new year is always an exciting time to plan for the year ahead. I look forward to the great things you will do in 2023. If I can be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Best,

Be Careful of Increase in Scams! Message from Director of ISSS Have you ever gotten a phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS? Has anyone ever asked you for your social security number over the phone or asked you to send them money before they take action against you? If so, you have likely been the target of a scam.
No bank, government agency, or other legitimate organization will ever ask for this information over the phone, unless you yourself have initiated the call. If you are ever unsure about the legitimacy of the call or threat, you can contact VUPD (615-322-2745) at any time to confirm.
We would also recommend downloading the VandySafe app on your phone. This app is free and allows you to contact VUPD directly. It also includes other resources to help you stay safe on campus.
