World Premiere!

"I hope that you'll remember even when you're feeling blue that it's you I like, it's you, yourself. It's you. It's you I like." - Mr. Rogers
Today is World Kindness Day and there just isn't a more appropriate message, beautifully sung by GQ. This touching and sweet arrangement from Cay Outerbridge provides an opportunity for all who sing it to create a meaningful moment, no matter what size the audience. We love it, and know you will too.

"In one word: control. These guys know how to swing and keep it smooth. They epitomize what it means to be both cool and sing barbershop... and it's just so entertaining to watch!"

Why I'm a BHS Member

Al Fisk
I joined the Barbershop Harmony Society because I couldn't get enough of four part harmony.  I bumped into a "real" BHS quartet while singing in the Michigan State University Chorus at a cabaret show with the Lansing Symphony Orchestra (Porgy and Bess). I followed those guys around the rest of the night insisting they sing all they knew. I joined the local chapter that week, joined a quartet two weeks later, and finished next to last in my first contest a month later.  I loved it!!!!

BHS has given me so much. I’ve been lucky enough to be a winning director and quartet member, a music judge, and coach. My membership allows me to connect with people all around the world. I'm a better person because of barbershop!

2020 ASCAP Reporting Deadline Approaching

The Barbershop Harmony Society has a blanket agreement with ASCAP (The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers) to pay significantly reduced licensing fees for all U.S. chapters and ensuring their legal compliance for public performances of the songs represented by ASCAP.

As a friendly reminder, all U.S. Chapters must complete an annual ASCAP Chapter Reporting Form and submit it (with corresponding payment, if applicable) to Harmony by the end of each calendar year. The 2020 ASCAP Chapter Reporting Form is due on or before 12/31/20.

If a chapter has not produced and will not produce any live in-person shows this year, Section A of the ASCAP Reporting From must still be completed and submitted to Harmony Hall via email to library@barbershop.or on or before 12/31/20.

ASCAP Report Forms with check payments should be mailed to:
Barbershop Harmony Society
ATTN: Copyright/Licensing Department
110 7th Avenue North
Nashville, TN 37203-3704

(Please note: If you are a Canadian Chapter you are not required to submit an ASCAP Chapter Reporting Form; however, SOCAN reporting requirements must be satisfied by your group.)

Should you have questions or need additional information, please contact the BHS Manager of Copyright & Licensing at library@barbershop.org.
