| ¿Qué Pasa? Festival – The Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's annual ¿Qué Pasa? Festival is back in person this year on Saturday, June 11. This festival showcases the diversity and beauty of Hispanic and Latin American cultures while also bringing business to some amazing local artisans, food vendors, and entertainers. Hope you can make it!

- Shout-out to all of the School Webmasters who attended the Engagement Office's website training yesterday! It was a jam-packed two hours of learning, but everyone had great questions and participation. We sincerely appreciate your efforts to continue learning our new website platform and growing as awesome webmasters, especially with the many other demands of your job. Thank you!
- Ms. Neri Suarez at George Wythe is an incredible teacher, leader, and advocate. She is a beacon of hope and motivation for so many. RPS and GWHS are so lucky to have her. We love you, Neri!
- Ms. Estrada-Williams has been incredible in her planning and communication for SOL testing at River City. She is so excellent at what she does and her hard work doesn't go unnoticed.
- The counseling team at River City MS has worked so hard to coordinate SOL testing. They are so patient and have put in incredibly long hours to make things run as smoothly as possible. So, Ms. Hines, Mr. Alexander, Ms. Woodson, and Ms. Cherrie Smith, thank you! We appreciate you so much.
- Shout-out to the support staff at Oak Grove-Bellemeade! Thank you to our school counselors, Ms. Faison and Mrs. Jenkins, our school social worker, Mrs. Olds, and our CIS coordinators, Ms. Brown and Mrs. Valenza, for their continued efforts all school year to support staff, students, and families throughout the variety of challenges and successes. Greeting students in the morning, Friday dance parties, home visits, putting out fires, encouraging and celebrating students, and building authentic relationships! Thanks for all you do!
- Thank you to Ms. Christal Bacon, STEM teacher at Henderson STEM Academy, for the hands-on learning challenges she does with her students. She makes learning engaging and fun.
- Thank you to Ms. Pamela Couther, assistant principal at Martin Luther King Jr. STEM Academy. She has leaned in to support the STEM programing with energy and a positive mindset.
- Thank you to all the Henderson Middle School and MLK Jr. Middle School STEM partners for sharing their expertise, mentoring, and hands-on learning experiences with our STEM Academy students. You are appreciated!
- Just want to give a shout-out to Overby-Sheppard's preschool-2nd grade teachers and students for the support and encouragement they have shown to our 3-5 students before testing. Thank you for the banners, signs, and encouraging words to our students. They were beaming with happiness to hear you cheering them on. Thank you for showing team spirit and encouraging our scholars!
- Thank you to Ms. Hammond, Overby-Sheppard ES art teacher extraordinaire, who did an awesome job leading us in our 2022 Staff Paint Party! Fun was had by all and we appreciate you sharing your gift and talent with us!
- Shout-out to the driver of Bus 25 for Westover Hills Elementary School! She's always welcoming the kids with a smile and making sure everyone is comfortable and safe when taking them to and from school.
- Shout-out to Ms. Barker for her awesome reading programs at Westover Hills Elementary School and for everything that she does to get the kids interested in the library. My kid loves to read, and loves her book suggestions!
- Shout-out to Ms. Bridges at Westover Hills Elementary School for an awesome kindergarten year! My kinder student is now reading on his own, crushing it at math, and loving everything that he has learned this year.
- Shout-out to Mr. Davis at Westover Hills Elementary School. My student loves all the math tricks and tips that he learns from Mr. Davis. Keep up the great work!
- Shout-out to Ms. El Koubi and the awesome Beaver Boosters volunteers at Westover Hills Elementary School for organizing fun events throughout the year, including the upcoming WHES carnival! It's gonna rock!
- Shout out to Judith Deichman (Judy) from Library Media Services for going above and beyond to make sure every RPS student has interesting and engaging titles in hand through the Lit Limo meet-ups and special accommodations for distribution pickups!
