Greetings from the University Staff Advisory Council!

March Meeting Highlights

  • Belinda 'Otukolo Saltiban, Ph.D., associate vice chancellor for equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), shared the vision and mission of her group, introduced the team and highlighted the 23 programs, countless events, lectures and workshops offered.  Linzie Treadway, Ph.D., director of special projects for EDI reminded the group of the 10 employee affinity groups available for staff, which foster belonging and community.  Sign up for The Inclusive Connect newsletter for information related to EDI.
  • Vanderbilt Bookstore director, Arnoldo De Jesus, shared they are more than a bookstore, offering clothing, gifts, electronics, music, games and much more.  The remodeled second floor has event space for your next book club meeting, book signing or office event.
  • Stacy Bonner, wellbeing manager, shared Campus & Community Resources including National Alliance on Mental Health, which is an active participant in raising mental health awareness throughout the Greater Nashville Area.  The quote of the month is..."Asking for help is not a sign of weakness".
It's not too late to donate to the Spread the Love Fundraiser
The number of Middle Tennessee children at risk of hunger has jumped from one in seven to more than one in four because of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Our goal is $6,000 to provide 24,000 meals for area children and adults.
