Team J.MAK recently checked in at Cape Cod's most beautiful address to report on what makes this resort such a New England icon. 2020 and 2021 were record summers, and leisure sales records, for CBI, a resort with a 107-year history! Proof that it just keeps getting better.

Here are a few summer highlights...

Chatham Bars Inn has more than 4,000 hydrangeas planted around its 25-acre property. CBS Sunday Morning just did a segment on them. The resort's Fine Gardener Pamela Vasques treats her 12 different hydrangeas on the property with serious care.
TIP: Best time to catch CBI's hydrangeas is from mid-June to late-July, but some bloom into mid-September.

CBI has a a row of beautiful new beach cabanas along its quarter-mile private beach available for guest rental. Separated from the rest of the resort by sand dunes, the beach cabanas offer a quiet escape - and with food and beverage service - they make for a relaxing day by the sea.

You don't need a car at CBI. Or park yours and try out one of their fleet of new Lexus cars like the Lexus LC 500h SPORT, GS F SPORT or a spacious RX 450hl luxury utility vehicle for up to four hours. Take one to the Cape Cod National Seashore, to the incredible Whydah Pirate Museum (with real pirate treasure dug up just off Cape Cod!), for a quick trip into Chatham or any number of local excursions. Cape Cod is filled with dramatic byways that wander through pristine sandy beaches, marshes, ponds and uplands.

TIP: Sign the kids up for CBI's Night Owl Kids Club and have the staff drive you into Chatham for dinner.

From The Beatles to Pink Floyd, live music can be heard around the resort. Click the photos to hear the summer sounds of CBI - in the afternoon outside the Beach House Grill (bottom left) and in the evenings at the Bayview Terrace (top and bottom right).

The Chatham Bars Inn clambake at the Beach House Grill is not to be missed. A tradition of the Wampanog, the native people of Cape Cod, the chef at CBI still prepares the clambake in the traditional Wampanog way, with layers of seafood and seaweed steamed in a pit on the beach. All seafood is locally caught around Chatham and all produce is sourced from the Chatham Bars Inn farm.
DON'T MISS talented waiter, Rhoderi Harris, who entertains guests at the Beach House Grill by balancing drinks on his head.

Be sure to get out on the water! Hop on CBI's complimentary "Bar Tender" launch boat to the gorgeous stretch of barrier beach, called North Beach Island, to see seals and birds up close. peP.R. and her family hopped on the Bar Tender with Capt. Bill for a cruise around the harbor and some seal sightings.
DO IT: CBI has a variety of excursions from fishing to cocktailing available to guests.
