Today is the the last day of classes for Spring 2022;   ISSS hopes all are finishing the semester strong and completing final projects and exams in preparation for an exciting or relaxing summer!

Chinese Name Pronunciation Basics
All (students, Miami employees and local community members) are welcome to join ISSS staff, Penny Yan, to learn a few simple tips and try out some practical tools as they gain more confidence when pronouncing Chinese names.
If you would like to partner with ISSS and hold a name pronunciation workshop for your native language, reach out to Dan Sinetar, dansinetar@MiamiOH.edu.

International Student Graduation Reception

Graduating international students and their loved ones are welcome to our Graduation Reception at the International Student Center to enjoy global refreshments, meet with ISSS staff, take photos, receive a graduation gift, and leave their mark at Miami! 

You are encouraged to wear graduation attire, semi-formal dress, or traditional/cultural clothing that represents your heritage or background. 
International students graduating in May or August should register to attend.

Planning to Travel Outside the U.S.?
Make sure you have a valid travel signature to re-enter the U.S. Review your SEVIS document (second page of I-20 or first page of DS-2019) to see if it has been signed for travel. A travel signature can be used for entry into the U.S. for one year from the day it was signed, provided that you have remain enrolled full-time at Miami, your document has not expired, and your major has not changed. To re-enter the U.S. in August 2022 a travel signature should be dated September 2021 or after.

Please note that ISSS will still have drop-in hours from 1:30-3:00pm, May 9-12 and appointments with ISSS will be available throughout the summer.

2. It's your responsibility to know what is and what is NOT allowed to be used or done on assignments - if you are unsure, ask your instructor!
