Fall Dance Showcase Tonight

Thursday, November 16 @ 7:00 PM

Hard Auditorium | Pomfret School

The Fall Dance Showcase is tonight in Hard auditorium where students and faculty join together to perform amazing dances choreographed by Ms. Joly. As part of Dr. Tsemo and Ms. Wyse's weekly radio show The Lighthouse, Pomfret company dancer Trina Madziwa ’20 was interviewed discussing dance, writing, and the intersection of all her work as an artist.

Fall play was an exciting hit!

Scenes from American Life

Fourteen Pomfret students showed their incredible acting skills this past weekend. It made for an entertaining and compelling evening of theater. Thanks to Chip Lamb, Beth Jacquet, and Tim Peck for all of their hard work.

honey by an anonymous contributor

i swallow honey

and gag on the saccharine,

choke on overwhelming

enthusiasm my taste buds are

trying to accommodate.

have you ever

finger-painted with the color green?

not the dark shade,

but the one that seems like leaves,

with rays of harsh lighting

burning through the layers

of cells and chlorophyll.

you can spread your fingers as wide as they go,

but the paint is still

too much to tame into

a comprehensible shape.

swallowing too much honey

is a bit like that.

nothing is ever enough,

its too little and too much

i choke with or without it,

but at least i swallow.

i try.

i don’t think you can say the same.

Manuscripts is Pomfret School’s portfolio of student and faculty artwork (paintings, drawings, ceramics, and photography), writing (prose, nonfiction, and poetry), and music. We aim to showcase our student and faculty talents via emails, our regularly updated website, and our printed booklet.
