Marcia L. Fudge, U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, will deliver a recorded keynote address at both of our spring commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 15.
Secretary Fudge was originally slated to speak live during our afternoon ceremony at Progressive Field but will be unable to join us due to new, COVID-related travel guidance from the White House.
While we are disappointed that the Secretary won’t be coming to Cleveland, we’re pleased that she will be able to video-record her address. This will allow graduates and guests at both of our ceremonies to hear her powerful, inspirational story.
Secretary Fudge, a life-long Clevelander and graduate of CSU Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, is the former U.S. Representative for Ohio’s 11th congressional district. She is also the first CSU alumna to serve as a cabinet secretary.
