COVID-19 Campus Update

Welcome back to campus! As we begin this new semester, the UT Health Science Center continues to closely follow the changing CDC guidelines as we monitor the record surge that the Omicron variant is having on the number of cases around our campuses. Please review UTHSC's latest COVID-19 guidelines, which include an indoor mask requirement and social distancing.

COVID-19 Testing Site Opens

UTHSC and University Clinical Health (UCH) have opened a drive-through COVID-19 testing site on the Memphis campus at the Van Vleet Building, 3 N. Dunlap St. The site is open to the public and offers COVID-19 testing Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. No appointments are necessary. Please bring identification showing proof of residency and proof of insurance, if available.

Volunteers Needed for COVID-19 Testing Site

University Clinical Health is in need of volunteers for their drive-through COVID-19 testing on the Memphis campus. Volunteers do not need to be clinically trained to act as a “collector” – training will be provided onsite upon arrival.

 

Sign up for volunteer shifts on GivePulse. Please note that testing will take place outside. We encourage volunteers to monitor the weather and dress accordingly.

UTHSC Hiring Freeze Lifted

The campus-wide staff hiring freeze that was put in place in March of 2021 has ended, effective January 5, 2022. Departments will no longer need to request prior approval to post state-funded staff positions.

 

Although the hiring freeze has been lifted, unit heads are encouraged to scrutinize each opportunity to hire as it relates to evolving organizational needs and challenges.

Oracle Selected for ERP Solution

The UT System has selected Oracle to provide the new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution, soon to be known as DASH (Dynamic Administrative System for Higher Ed).

 

During the past year, UT staff from across the system have been working to identify a replacement for IRIS, which has been in place for almost 20 years.

 

DASH, a cloud-based computing solution for finance, human resources and payroll, will launch in the summer of 2024.
